This is a dimmable driver from Ecopac™ that takes an electricity input of between 180 – 240v and transforms it to a usable 12v DC, making it the ideal product for use with certain low voltage LED strip lights, spotlights, and reflectors with a maximum load of 9.6W.

Whilst this might sound quite limiting, this driver’s true calling lies with installations in relatively small areas.

For larger rooms with more lighting requirements, you’ll need to employ the power of the ‘bigger guns’ such as the 25W and 48W or the even beefier 100 and 200W varieties.

The actual products with which this dimmable driver is compatible include, but are not limited to, certain of our MR16-based dimmable spotlights, and bulbs such as the E27 R80, 8W LED Reflector. It will also provide sufficient power for a 1-metre length of any of our LED strip lights, including, but not limited to our Single Colour LED Strip, 4.8W and our mind-blowing RGB LED Pixel Tape, 7.2W which delivers between 165 – 510 dazzling, colour changing Lumens of brilliance.

This 10W dimmable driver has an IP20 (Ingress Protection) rating.

IP-ratings might sound complicated, but once you realise that each of the digits pertains to a different quality of protection, it all falls into place.

The first digit relates to the protection given against intrusion from foreign bodies. This dimmable driver is therefore protected against anything larger than 12mm.

In this case, the second indicates that it has zero protection against liquids, so it’s suitable for installation in dry areas such as your living room or bedroom.

Unlike fluorescent light bulbs, most LEDs come in a choice of three colour temperatures which will allow you to tailor the mood and ambience of your room according to its function.

Whilst you’re free to mimic the fluorescent’s characteristic bright and somewhat impersonal light for your kitchen area, with the cool white (6000K) colour, you may wish to create a pleasant, homely atmosphere in your bedroom or living area with the warm white (3000K) or daylight white (4000K) options. But this is just one reason for LED’s superiority. There are many more.
