Cutting Hole (mm):
NeoDeck Blue LED Decking Light Kit, 15mm Description
Manufactured by Mirrorstone, this set uses just 1W per LED, making it highly energy efficient and can be purchased in packs of 6, 10 or 20 depending on your requirements.
With a 10mm size cutting hole needed for use, the decking light kit is suitable for use in a variety of places – outdoor decking, kitchen plinth lighting or even the bathroom would all benefit from the ambiance created by this set.
The box comes with everything you need too – the LED decking lights themselves, all the cables and connectors (that’s a 5m cable from the transformer to the first light, and 1.5m cabling between each light), and an IP44 rated low voltage transformer – making installation an easy experience.
Please be aware that the supplied transformer is only designed to run the amount of lights included in the pack. You cannot add any more lights on, else this will overload the transformer.
Make sure you check our discounts and promotional codes page where you could save up to 20% off your order through our various offers we have on selected products during the year.
The NeoDeck range of decking lights upgrades your outdoor experience. With a more vivid light than ever before, your coloured or white lights will brighten up your night. It’s the same low energy usage you’d expect, with brighter lights, and improved weather resistance. It’s a completely new decking adventure.
Fit For All Weather
The decking lights come equipped with IP65 protection, and as mentioned above, the low voltage transformer is IP44 rated.
IP ratings (Ingress Protection) can seem like a different language at first, but they are actually quite easy to understand. It is simply a measurement of a device’s level of protection against moisture and foreign bodies, and is comprised of 2 parts – the 2 digits that make up the numbered segment of the rating.
So let’s look at our LED decking lights which have an IP65 rating. The 6 means that the lights are completely dust tight, and that the lights cannot be penetrated by any foreign bodies.
The second digit – the 5 – means that it can withstand low pressure jets of water from any direction. In the real world this means that the lights are splash proof and won’t malfunction due to heavy rain, washing or any other splashes of water.
The transformer is IP44 rated, meaning that it is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm, and against water splashes from any direction.
For you, this means that both the decking lights and the transformer are suitable for use outdoor and in areas where water splashes may be frequent – the kitchen or bathroom for example.
Of course the advantage of using LED decking lights outdoors as opposed to incandescent or fluorescent lighting is that there is no risk of accidentally stepping on a very hot light – LEDs operate at very cool temperatures – meaning you can relax if you have small children or pets in your household.
Colours For Every Setting
Of course blue LEDs might not be everyone’s cup of tea. We know this, and have a much wider range of LED decking lights with a multitude of different colours available.
A good neutral option for those not fond of blue would be the White LED Decking Light Kit, which features identical specs to the blue. Due to the balanced colour, this too is also a great option for both indoor and outdoor use.
Whilst the 15mm is a good choice for creating ambiance, those who are looking to illuminate their outdoor decking might be better off going for the 40mm Blue Decking Light. With a slightly higher power consumption of 3.5W per LED, this option will provide you with more light, serving a more functional purpose than aesthetic.
