Colour Temperature Explained

In the same what that lumens (lm) indicate how bright a bulb is, colour temperature will denote the perceived warmth of a lighting source. Split into Warm White (3000K), Daylight (4000k), Cool White (6000K) and RGB, your LED light can be tailored to its surroundings.

Warm White has become the most popular for domestic lighting. Emitting a softer, yellow-tone white, it is commonly used in relaxed settings – like living areas or bedrooms.

Cool White is the opposite. Being a sharper and icier tone of white, it is often used in places like a kitchen or office to increase concentration.

Daylight is a mixture of the two as it mixes the sharpness of the Cool White with the slight yellow tint of the Warm White. This creates illumination that, indeed, resembles the light of day.

RGB is a fun option for any lighting – especially if you have little ones. Emitting in Red, Green, Blue and any colour in-between, our multi-coloured lighting options are mesmerising.
