The perfect product for use in any commercial installation or design projects. The Mirrorstone 7.2w/m Digital RGB Pixel Tape (Protocol: WS2812B) can achieve effects that no other RGB strip lights can.

With each three individual LEDs addressable, you will be able to achieve a huge scope of effects. Have a look at what it is, what is does and how good it really is with our introductive video guide on what is an LED pixel tape. Take more than our word for it and see for yourself with the 2013 Samsung Galaxy Tablet Launch in London where our pixel tape was installed.

Due to the design of the LED strip lights, they can stuck down nearly anywhere, while they come with a self adherent backing so they can be stuck wherever you can get them. However, due to the wide range of surfaces such as MDF and Granite, we cannot guarantee this adhesive on all surfaces.

The strips can also be cut every 100mm so you can get lengths cut to what you desire.

Did you know that all of our LED Tape is dimmable? Simply use alongside a dimmable driver to alter the brightness!

Please note that all IP67 and IP68 tape comes in lengths of up to 5m max, and will not fit in any of our aluminium profiles.

IP65 tape comes in maximum lengths of up to 25m, and will be soldered tape to tape every 5m for any lengths over 5m. Although 25m lengths are available in this way, there is no guarantee that it can be ran continuously due to power drop. Please get in touch with us if you require further information about this.

IP20 tape may or may not come soldered tape to tape, as this depends on how it arrives to us from our suppliers.

These strips are also included in the wide range of unique discount codes that are ran on the site, meaning you can save up to 20% before your order has even been dispatched.

Protect Your Strips From Weather And Water

As the strips are very versatile, they are available in a range of IP (waterproof) ratings to protect them from a wide weather conditions and water. The table below cites all available IP Ratings and the use that they are mainly used for.

IP Rating

General Usage

IP20

IP20 offers no protection against water and should only be installed internally.

IP65

IP65 has a small silicone coating that can withstand splashes and jets of water. IP65 LED strips are advised to be installed internally in bathrooms or externally where water access is highly limited.

IP68

IP68 strip lights are completely encased in silicone and are fully waterproof. This allows for installation of the strip lights nearly anywhere with a depth of up to 10m.

As the IP65 and IP68 rated strips have a silicone protection around them they are available in rolls of up to 5m. However, as the IP20 has no protection it is available in rolls of up to 10m.

Please be aware though that LED Tape is sold by the metre - when specifying the length you need, please round up to the nearest metre and type this number into the quantity box at the top of the page.

Bespoke Cutting Service

Here at Wholesale LED Lights we are aware that not everyone is equipped to cut and solder the strip lights, so we offer a Bespoke Cutting Service.

We can cut you tape to your lengths to suit your needs. The first 3 are free, the subsequent ones are charged depending on the type of tape you chose. This service is only available for LED tapes that have been purchased at Wholesale LED Lights.

All LED Tape is priced per metre. If you purchase any amount of LED strip lights then we will send it out as one full, uninterrupted length e.g. 1 x 3m rather than 3 x 1m.

LED Tape & Strip Lights Custom Lengths

Low Voltage, Dynamic Colour Solutions

RGB pixel tape is only available in 12 volts. Due to the low voltage they run at, you will need to install a 12v power supply to make them usable. We have a range of power supplies available such as power adapters and waterproof LED drivers.

Our power supplies are available in a range of maximum loads to take a variety of lengths into account. Below is a list of notable lengths for the 7.2w/m Digital RGB pixel tape:

1 Metre - 7.2 Watts;

3 metres - 21.6 Watts;

5 metres - 36 Watts;

10 metres - 72 Watts;

20 Metres - 144 Watts;

30 Metres - 216 Watts.

Please note that all our LED tape is sold by the metre, and that the measurements above are for guidance purposes only. You can specify the length you need above in the box labelled ‘Qty’.

When powering RGB pixel tape, it is advised to run about 10% under the maximum load of your power supply to keep the driver running at a cooler temperature, runs at its maximum efficiency which also maximises its lifespan of the driver.

These products can generate a full colour spectrum thanks to the RGB LEDs on the strip. This huge spectrum of colours means you can set the lights for any situation and find the perfect mood.

On top of this, you can achieve up to 133 different effects on your strip thanks to the controllers we have available. So whatever the location, whatever the need RGB pixel tape will have the setting for you.

Increasing The Life Of The Strip And Give A Complete Finish

As RGB pixel tape has an individual microchip every 3 LEDs there is an estimated lifespan of up to 70,000 hours. This estimation comes to about 25 years of life for the strips in total. Other factors can influence the life and even extend it. The factors below influence the strip and can change the lifespan of it.

Favourable Conditions

Unfavourable Conditions

If the area that the strip lights are installed has cool air flow around them.

The strip lights have warm air circulating around them.

Strip lights that are installed on a surface that is effective at dissipating heat, such as aluminium.

Surfaces that dissipate heat ineffectively such as wood can reduce the life of the strips drastically.

Use IP Ratings only when necessary to ensure a cooler running temperature.

Over use of IP Ratings can cause heat to be trapped and cause premature failure.

Meeting all of the favourable conditions can extend the life of the strip lights up to a potential 100,000 hours! That's nearly 40 years!

We can help you meet one of the conditions as aluminium profiles are available for mounting the LED strip lights in. Not only do they help extend the life of the LED strips, but they can also provide a cleaner finish for the strips with the option of a clear or frosted diffuser available.

Please note that RGB pixel tape is slightly wider than standard RGB LED strip lights and can only fit into aluminium profiles with an internal width of more than 12mm, such as our Wide Aluminium Profile.

IP65 strip lights that are mounted internally without any aluminium profiles are not covered by any form of warranty. Any replacements that are required for IP65 strips are charged at 50% of the retail price when bought with aluminium profiles.

Broaden Your Warranty On A Large Range Of Mirrorstone Products

All Mirrorstone Lighting products come with a standard 2 year warranty. This warranty can also be extended out to a 5 year warranty, free of charge on all ranges of LED spotlights, LED light bulbs and LED tape.

This warranty application can only be applied for within the first 90 days of purchase.

Assistance On Installing RGB Pixel Tape

As the RGB pixel strip lights have an individual microchip every three LEDs, the wiring is different to standard RGB LED strips. The below wiring diagram displays how to wire the RGB pixel tape.

Wiring diagram for an AC/DC power adapter, RGB controller and the RGB LED strip lights

The strips are still cut and soldered in the same way as normal LED strip lights. If you need any advice in cutting or installing them then have a look at our 'How To' guides on our channel on YouTube.

If you have any questions about the RGB pixel tape wiring, the extendable warranty or have any trade enquiries  the feel free to get in contact with us by e-mail at cs@wled.co.uk or by telephone 0116 321 4120.
