What’s An IP Rating?

An IP Rating is simply a measure of how resistant your fitting is to water and other foreign bodies. In basic terms, the higher the first number, the more resistant your fitting is to dust and other objects. The higher the second number the more resistant it is to water.

When shopping for outdoor lights in particular, it’s important to ensure your new fitting is rated IP44, which means it’s protected from light splashes of water in any direction. Getting the right IP rating will give you peace of mind.

With an E27 base, you’ll be able to use any matching bulb with this light. However, for maximum impact, we’d recommend using LED bulbs. These bulbs are 90% more efficient compare to their counterparts, meaning you can get bright, high quality lighting without spiking your energy bills.
