The 9 separate LEDs packed into the Diecast aluminium finish shine with a combined brightness of 800 lumens, but only use 9W – an equivalent brightness incandescent bulb would use 70W of energy.
The ReadyLEDrange of downlights has had a new facelift, with efficiency being the focus. They have a new heat sink, with higher quality materials being used to dissipate heat at a quicker rate than ever before. The actual lights inside manage to generate even more light from the same low energy usage, ensuring a more eco-friendly fitting.
After cutting a 110mm hole in your ceiling to use it, the narrow 45o beam angle provides the perfect light for accent and feature lighting, making it great for showrooms or shop floors.
Packing in a whopping 50,000 hours of life, the fitted downlight also comes with the option of dimmable light, and is compatible with all trailing edge LED dimmer switches. It is worth noting however that this item should not be used with a leading edge dimmer.

The difference is simply the perceived warmth of the light emitted. Warm white closely replicates the hue given off by traditional halogen lights. The effect this has is that it creates a cosy atmosphere, the kind you would want for a living room or bedroom.
Cool white is brighter than warm white, and gives off a more penetrative light. This is better for places that require concentration like the kitchen or the office.
Stepping Forward With LEDs
There are many reasons as to why LEDs are the future and why you should switch to LED lighting. Chief among these are the money saving aspects.
We’ve already mentioned how long LEDs can last – up to 50,000 hours. This negates the need to continually buy replacement bulbs, but they will also save you money on your bills too.
LEDs are far more energy efficient than their fluorescent and incandescent counterparts. An equivalent brightness incandescent will lose up to 80% of its energy to heat, whereas an LED will lose just 10% to heat. As a result they use a fraction of the energy of traditional lighting methods.
